2 years. 24 Months, 17,520 hours, 1,051,200 minutes. You get the idea.
It’s amazing to think that I just recently passed the two year anniversary of SoundReason.org. I had taken a brief hiatus in July and August this year, but other than that it’s been a pretty steady flow of posting since October of 2013. In that time this site has seen 23K unique page views. 23 thousand! That just seems incredible to me that the things I’ve posted here have drawn that many sets of eyes, be it intentional or unintentional.
I know in that time my name and work have become synonymous with the Net Neutrality regulations because I’ve written about it so many times. What you might find interesting to know is that in the top ten pages viewed on this site only two of them are net neutrality posts. The most viewed post on this site is one that always seems to draw a trickle of views every single month and one I published just a few months after starting called “Have You Measured Your Room Recently?” where I looked at how the home studio can be improved with measurement and an understanding of how frequencies respond in your mixing space.
It continues to be an honor to have people take the time to visit my page, read my work, and then exchange ideas with me either here, on LinkedIn forums, or on Twitter. I don’t know what’s going to come next for this site. This year I saw the opportunity to put more of myself into the site. Not as an audio professional, not as a music professional, not as a general nerd reflecting on fandom, but rather just me and the things that strike passion in me and inspire me. I hope you’ve enjoyed the beginnings of this new personal section, I do have a few ideas that I want to see grow here over time, so we’ll have to both wait and see what comes next. There are also some things that I’m working on away from this site at AVNation.tv, Commercial Integrator, and in that thing called “real life” as well.
So if you’re a loyal reader, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me into your list of read materials. If you’re a casual reader, I appreciate the time you’ve spent exploring my work. If you’re a new reader, welcome! I hope to be able to continue to dazzle you with insights and ideas, prose and possibilities as well as some exciting news of things as we continue into year 3 – before I have to fund the next few years of owning and hosting this site.
Thank you all again for the support, help, guidance, readership, and time.
